Prince District RCMP is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred on Route 163 near the Burleigh Road in East Bideford, where two lives were lost.
June 27, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Lennox Island Fire Department, Tyne Valley Fire Department, Island EMS, Prince District RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Collision Reconstructionist, Summerside Police Services and the Department of Transportation responded to or assisted in this single-vehicle crash on Route 163in East Bideford.
Two passengers were declared deceased at the scene, a 22-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, both from Prince County. Another occupant of the vehicle a Prince County woman in her 20’s was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Route 163 was closed for several hours, with access to Lennox Island blocked and traffic backed up in both directions. The road reopened around 01:20 a.m.
