The PEI Humane Society says it has received reports that there may be people impersonating its Animal Protection Officers across PEI. Those accused of impersonating Animal Protection Officers are allegedly doing so in plain clothes and using unmarked vehicles.
The PEI Humane Society wants Islanders to know that no Animal Protection Officer will address animal welfare concerns in plain clothes. Concerns are always addressed by a uniformed officer who will be driving a marked vehicle. The PEI Humane Society says animal protection is the backbone of its work, and this kind of misrepresentation hurts everyone and makes the Humane Society’s officers’ jobs much more difficult to do.
