P-E-I’s auditor general says the province’s net debt is the highest it’s ever been. Darren Noonan says the net debt is closing in on three-billion-dollars or nearly 15-thousand-dollars for every person in the province. Noonan says his office plans to keep digging into capital spending to determine why so many provincial projects are going over-budget. In a statement, the Finance Department says it works to ensure the province can manage its debt.
