PM Carney’s meeting with Premiers brings several “nation building” projects to table

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s meeting with premiers, including Premier Rob Lantz, in Saskatoon has brought several “nation-building” projects to the table, but he won’t discuss what they are.  Carney is promising to table legislation that will speed up the approvals of critical infrastructure projects, while including meaningful consultation with Indigenous communities.  Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she supports the talks, calling the tone shift from the Trudeau government an encouraging sign — especially around energy development.  Despite no final list, Carney says discussions with the premiers will continue over the summer, as Ottawa refines what qualifies as being in the national interest.
