Premier Rob Lantz has joined Ontario Premier Doug Ford at the Saskatoon meeting in signing an agreement that strengthens both provinces’ commitment to eliminating barriers to interprovincial trade and labour mobility. The agreement builds on PEI’s Interprovincial Trade and Mobility Act and a similar Act in Ontario. Officials say that by reducing red tape, recognizing equivalent standards, and improving the mobility of workers, the agreement helps create opportunities for economic growth in both provinces. The annual value of trade in goods and services between Ontario and PEI is over $1.5 billion.
