A rematch is on deck for this year’s Stanley Cup final. The Edmonton Oilers beat the Dallas Stars 6-3 last night to clinch the Western Conference title and advance. They’ll once again face the Florida Panthers in a best-of-seven series for the N-H-L championship. Last year, Florida beat Edmonton in Game 7 to win its first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
A quintet of Grassroots divisions of the P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series headlined a strong 13-dash Thursday card at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Marc Campbell had four driving wins on the night and his son Landon Campbell conditioned horses to three wins. Trainer Jennifer Doyle and driver David Dowling teamed up for three wins on the card. Live racing continues Saturday evening at 6 P.M. at Red Shores Charlottetown.
In the NBA, the New York Knicks kept their season alive with a 111-94 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference final. Indiana holds a 3-2 series lead.
