UPEI has announced tuition increases for the 2025-26 school year of 6.5 percent for Canadian undergraduate students and 7.5 percent for international undergraduate students. That works out to about $460 for Canadian students taking a full course load, and $630 for international students. The UPEI Board of Governors approved a balanced operating budget of $202.9-million for the 2025–2026 fiscal year — an increase of $20.4-million over the previous fiscal year.
UPEI says it has been and continues to be significantly impacted by immigration policy changes implemented by the federal government. At UPEI, first-year international enrolment decreased by approximately 50 per cent in 2024–2025 and is also projected to decline in 2025–2026.
