PEI RCMP say a teacher, who was employed a number of years ago in PEI, was convicted earlier this month in the Northwest Territories in regards to several historical sexual assault and exploitations. The RCMP says Neil Barry was very briefly employed in the Eastern School District in PEI as a substitute teacher in the early 2000’s. No allegations have been reported to PEI RCMP for events in PEI and there is no current active investigation. Although there is no report of any incident here in PEI, the RCMP says that given the seriousness of the offences and the fact he did work briefly in PEI as a substitute teacher, the information is being shared to inform Islanders. If you have been the victim of any sexual offence, contact your local police.
