Shortly before 6:00pm last Thursday, Summerside Police received a 9-1-1 call about an erratic driver in the Water Street East area. An officer located the vehicle in a driveway with the driver moving slowly towards the roadway, and initiated a traffic stop.
The driver, a 31-year-old woman from Cornwall, showed signs of drug impairment and was arrested at the scene for impaired driving by drug. The driver then failed an examination by a Drug Recognition Evaluator.
A demand for blood samples was then made and police are awaiting the results of the analysis of those samples as the investigation continues.
