Environment Canada says the Atlantic hurricane season is about to start, and experts are predicting another active year of storms. Senior Meteorologist Bob Robichaud at the Canadian Hurricane Centre in Halifax says the impact on Canada is impossible to forecast, as tropical storm predictions are near impossible once they form over the ocean. Robichaud says that on average, between two and four named storms enter the Canadian zone every year, which means preparation for dangerous weather is a must. He says last year’s active season saw 18 named storms — with only storm Ernesto making it into the Canadian zone.
