QEH Foundation’s Big Day of Giving tops $1M in donations

Thanks to the generosity of Islanders, the QEH Foundation has officially reached the $1 million milestone for Big Day of Giving, the 24 hour event that was held on Wednesday.   QEH Foundation CEO Tracey Comeau joined us Thursday morning on Ocean 100 and HOT 105.5 to announce that $970-thousand had been raised.  Donations continued to come in on Thursday, and then Friday morning came word that the milestone had been reached.  The Foundation says it all came together thanks to a generous gift from Alex Pratt, made in honour of his son Everett.  As one of the featured grateful patients for Big Day of Giving, Everett’s journey touched hearts across the Island.  Alex’s donation of $10,000 through his company, Wood4Heating, pushed the total over the million dollar line.  The funds raised through Big Day of Giving will go towards the purchase of critical medical equipment needed for the QEH.  Ocean 100 and Hot 105.5 broadcast live from the lobby of the QEH during the Big Day of Giving.
