2024 a year of significant growth and strategic investment for YYG

Charlottetown airport Authority CEO Doug Newson says 2024 was a year of significant growth and strategic investment for the Airport Authority.  Newson says it was another record year for passenger traffic and they laid the groundwork for a more sustainable and enhanced airport experience for all who pass through YYG. A record 410,733 passengers travelled through YYG Charlottetown Airport in 2024.  2024 also saw progress on the air terminal building expansion project, with the commencement of Phase 1b, and continued planning for Phases 2 and 3. The $40-million project is expected to be completed in 2027.  Newson says Charlottetown Airport Authority also received strong support from its airline partners, with Air Canada, Porter, WestJet, and Flair providing service to six destinations.
