The Conservative Party’s newly released costed election platform forecasts 100-billion-dollar deficits over the next four years, along with billions of dollars in tax cuts and new revenues. At a campaign event in the Toronto-area Tuesday, Leader Pierre Poilievre unveiled the document and added that he is inheriting debt from the previous Liberal government. Liberal Leader Mark Carney dismissed Poilievre’s platform, saying it was back-of-the-napkin math that would cut programs and spending that Canadians need. In Vancouver, N-D-P Leader Jagmeet Singh also attacked the Conservatives’ numbers, insisting they are not based in —quote— “any reality.”
