Summerside Santa Claus Parade and Tree Lighting on Friday night

The Yuletide Festival gets underway Friday night in Summerside, and the highlights are the Santa Claus Parade and the Christmas Tree Lighting.  The Santa Claus Parade starts at 6:00pm at Credit Union Place parking lot and follows a route to Rufus Street, along Rufus Street to Water Street, Water Street to Granville Street, then along Granville to Notre Dame Street and ending at Spring Street. Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow for extra travel time during that time period.  Keep in mind that there will be road closures along that route between 6:00pm and about 7:15pm.  Following the Santa Claus Parade, at 7:15 PM there will be the lighting of the City Christmas Tree at Veterans Memorial Square Park.
