The MV Confederation returned to service Wednesday between Wood Islands and Caribou for Northumberland Ferries, but issues quickly developed and resulted in cancellations.
The ferry company announced Wednesday morning that the vessel was back in service and would be back in operation with the 10am crossing from Wood Islands and would operate with 4 round-trips daily until the end of the season on December 20th.
However, at about 3:30pm, Northumberland Ferries cancelled crossings for the remainder of the day due to mechanical issues.
