Details and location for new fire services facility in Summerside unveiled

Construction is to begin in 2026 on a new $11-million fire station in Summerside.  The City of Summerside announced Monday that it will be located on Central Street, adjacent to Leger Park and construction is expected to take about 18 months to complete.  The new fire station will replace Summerside Station 1, which was built in 1962 and as outgrown its lifespan.  The project is set to go to tender in fall 2025
