The Bloc Québécois is threatening to topple the government as soon as next week if the Liberal government doesn’t double back and support an old age pension increase for younger seniors.
Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet says he will work with other parties if the Liberals don’t support a bill increasing seniors’ pensions by 10 per cent.
Most Liberals voted against a Bloc motion, save for five M-Ps from Atlantic Canada.
The Atlantic provinces have the highest proportion of residents over 65.
