Funding support announced for tourism projects in central PEI

The Federal Government has announced a $1.7-million investment to support six tourism operators in central PEI — going towards 10 projects.  Ottawa says the investments will help the Town of North Rustico, Tourism Cavendish Beach, Tourism Industry Association of PEI, Island Walk, Central Coastal Tourism Partnership, and Golf PEI in the planning and development of tourism experiences.  They will also  support the PEI Events Innovation Fund,  which helps not-for-profit organizations deliver cultural festivals and events. The Province of Prince Edward Island is also contributing $986-thousand toward nine of the ten projects.
