It’s been a busy past week for RCMP Traffic Services, which focuses on making Island roads safer. Six impaired drivers were stopped by PEI RCMP, and two of those were stopped and arrested on Thursday for driving while impaired by drugs. One traffic stop on Wednesday found a man with an outstanding warrant, and during his arrest officers found a seized a small amount of cocaine. On Friday, a woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of a controlled substance, along with the two passengers. In total, police seized about 20 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle. Speeding has also been an issue. On one day alone, four drivers were charged with driving more than 50km/h over the speed limit.
