Late Thursday afternoon, police conducted a targeted traffic stop on the Confederation Bridge and it resulted in several kilograms of drugs being seized and three people being arrested. Police seized 1 kilogram of cocaine, 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine (brick), a bag containing more than 500 pills including meth pills and other drugs, 101 cartons of contraband cigarettes and edged weapons. Police say the seizure represents thousands of doses of illegal drugs. The operation was led by the RCMP with help from Summerside and Kensington Police and several joint services and RCMP units. Two men and one woman are charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine; Possession for the purpose of trafficking Methamphetamine; Possession for the purpose of trafficking Hydromorphone; and illegal possession of tobacco.
