The City of Charlottetown Fire Department has officially launched its 2024 volunteer firefighter recruitment campaign. Residents 19 and over can make an impact in their community and join the dedicated team of firefighters responsible for fire safety and emergency preparedness in the city. Free public information sessions are being held Monday August 26 and Monday October 7 at 6pm at Fire Station One for members of the public wanting to learn more. All volunteer firefighters learn valuable skills and get training, leadership development skills, insurance coverage and annual honorariums. Application packages can be picked up anytime from Monday to Friday at Charlottetown Fire Station One at 89 Kent St. or at Station Two at 152 St. Peters Rd. between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekends. The deadline for completed applications is Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.
