The man accused of killing a Montague teacher 35 years ago has elected to have his case heard before a Supreme Court judge and jury, should it go to trial. Todd Joseph Gallant, who also goes by Todd Joseph Irving, will be back in court July 4. Gallant is charged with first-degree murder and interfering with human remains in the death of school teacher Byron Carr in 1988.
