Foreign workers on the Island have vowed to begin another hunger strike today, after they say provincial officials failed to meet their immigration demands. Jaspreet Singh says about 50 workers representing about 250 will stop eating today, after they halted a previous hunger strike last month at the request of provincial officials. He says officials promised to work with them to reach a solution, but nothing came of the government’s pledge. The protesting foreign workers say new changes aimed at capping immigration to the Island have left them in limbo, and they’re demanding to be grandfathered in under the old rules.
