With angling season underway, the RCMP and Provincial Conservation Officers teamed up last weekend. They checked 62 recreational fishers, made two arrests, and issued a fine for failing to remain at the scene of a collision. At about 9:30am on Saturday in Alexandra, RCMP and conservation officers combined to conduct a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of a 33-year old man for prohibited driving. Shortly before 11:00am on Saturday in Mount Albion, a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a driver for impaired by cannabis. While officers were dealing with removing this vehicle, there was a collision at the scene. A 74-year-old driver failed to slow when they approached emergency vehicles and struck another car. The driver left the scene, but police were able to stop them and they were issued a fine for failing to stop at the scene of an accident. No one was injured in the collision.
