Fuel prices went down on PEI on Friday morning. The Island Regulatory and
Appeals Commission approved a decrease of 4.0 cents per litre in the price of regular gasoline; a decrease of 4.0 cents per litre in the price of furnace oil; and 4.0 cents per litre in the price of diesel. Including taxes, pump prices for regular self-serve gasoline now range from 165.7 to
166.9 cents per litre. Diesel now costs you between 187.3 and 188.5 cents per litre. The maximum price for furnace oil is 137.6 cents per litre.
Those prices won’t in place for very long though, because the Federal Carbon Tax is to increase on April 1st. So, starting Monday, you’ll then pay an additional 3.3 cents per litre for gasoline; 4.0 cents per litre for diesel; and 2.3 cents per litre for propane.
