Early last Friday afternoon, an RCMP officer stopped a vehicle with expired registration. The officer noted the driver showed signs of possibly being impaired by cannabis, and the driver failed a road-side screening. That resulted in a 7-day driving suspension and the vehicle was impounded for three days. The investigation is continuing pending results of samples collected from the driver. On Saturday, RCMP acted on a 9-1-1 call about a possibly impaired driver and stopped a vehicle in Stratford. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol and was administered a roadside test. Although the result was a warning, police records confirmed the driver had 2 previous roadside suspensions within the past three years. The driver was then issued a 90-day driving suspension and their vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
