The PEI Auditor General’s Annual Report to the Legislative Assembly was tabled Thursday. In that report, Auditor General Darren Noonan raises concerns about spending by the provincial government, specifically with regards to the use of special warrants. Basically, that’s cabinet approving expenditures outside of what’s budgeted. The King government authorized a record $326.7 million in special warrants in the last fiscal year. Noonan raises concerns about the frequency and value of those special warrants.
