Some changes are being made to the Gold Cup Parade route this year. The changes will impact the second half of the parade’s traditional route, and the organizing committee says they’re aimed at helping with traffic in the area as well as access to the downtown core. Gold Cup Parade Day is Friday, August 18th, and it will begin at 10 a.m. heading south on North River Road from Queen Charlotte Intermediate School; turn left on Brighton Road and continue on Euston Street before turning right on Great George Street and right on Grafton Street. With this new route the parade will travel straight on Grafton Street before turning right on Rochford Street, then left on Fitzroy Street where the parade will end. The parade route will not include Queen Street and Water Street this year.
