The Halifax area received 267 mm of rain Friday into Saturday from the effects of a tropical storm in torrential downpours.
Four people missing who were in vehicles that sunk in the downpour. 750 homes were evacuated.
Roads and bridges were destroyed.
A state of emergency was declared by the Premier. Ottawa says it will aid the province with financial support and other aid.
Search and Rescue was called in using small boats to look for anyone stranded.
The missing include two adults. Also a two-year old and a 12-year old.
It’s worst torrential rain storm in Nova Scotia since Hurricane Beth in 1971 that brought 266 mm of rain to the province.
Here on the Island there over 62 mm in Kings County recorded and over 32 mm in Charlottetown from the effects of the tropical storm also brought thunder showers on Saturday.
