The average driver in Nova Scotia has been paying $12 to $14 more to fill up the gas tank with prices up 27 cents in the last two weeks.PEI prices have risen 11 cents a litre more in the last 10 days as announced by IRAC and Islanders are paying a lot more than they were at the end of June.
It’s just over 1.76 in Nova Scotia. The federal carbon tax and the clean fuel regulations imposed on suppliers and passed on to consumers is responsible for a good part of the price hike.
PEI prices are just over 1.74 a litre.
Compare that with Toronto where gas is going for 1.62 and that adds up to a 12 cent a litre difference.
