PEI Liberals are calling on a provincial strategy to help with housing.
The opposition says record homelessness is happening in the province as Islanders struggle to find affordable housing.
MLA Gord McNeilly says the King government did announce eight new supportive units last week but he says it’s far from enough.
According to the government, 288 people are reported as unhoused in PEI. But a recent report from the Lawson Research Institute in London, Ontario says that is more than triple in what’s been reported. McNeilly is calling on a housing strategy to be in place by August 31st.
