The Charlottetown Islanders ended the regular season in the Q losing 10-5 to the Mooseheads in Halifax. Josh Lawrence had a big game with 3 goals and 2 assists. Michael Horth scored twice for the Isles and had 28 for the season. The Islanders (26-33-9) open the first round of the playoffs in Quebec City next weekend. The Remparts finished first at 53-12-3. They won 7-1 and 2-1 in overtime facing the Isles in two matchups during the season.
The Kensington Vipers opened the Island Jr. B finals with a 5-3 win at home over the Sherwood Metros. Carson MacKay had two goals including the winner in the final period. The Vipers broke a 3-3 tie after two. MacKay got the deciding goal with about 4 minutes left.
The Pownal Ice Dogs are 3-0 in the Island Jr. C. semifinals with a 4-0 win over North River. Drew Chapman made 19 saves in the shutout.
Emmett Lyons had the winner. Isaac Drake had a goal and two assists.
The Carolina Hurricanes got by the Toronto Maple Leafs, 5-3. Sebastian Aho scored the winner late in the third. Auston Matthews got his 35th for the Leafs.
Boston clinched the Atlantic with a 2-1 edging of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Garnet Hathaway got the winner as the Bruins won their 56th.
Montreal ran over Columbus, 8-2 as Rafael Harvey-Pinard got his first career hat trick.
Seattle stopped Nashville, 7-2. Former Junior Islander Daniel Sprong got his 19th for the Kraken.
Las Vegas shaded Edmonton, 4-3 in overtime on a goal by Nicolas Roy. Leon Draisaitl scored his 45th on a power play for the Oilers.
Detroit over Toronto, 4-1 in exhibition baseball. Rookie Parker Meadows hit a three run homer.
The Yankees won 8-3 over Philadelphia.
Tampa Bay doubled Boston, 4-2.
Just four days until opening day in baseball.
