Snowfall warnings are in effect for Prince and Queens Counties. 20 to 25 cm of snow is possible in those parts of the province through Monday and into Tuesday morning. Snow will become heavy at times Monday morning, and may change to rain over portions of central and eastern PEI for a period in the evening and then back to snow by Tuesday morning. Snow will end early Tuesday. For Kings County, it’s a Special Weather Statement. Snow will become heavy Monday morning and is expected to change rain over eastern PEI for a period in the evening and then back to snow by Tuesday morning. Snow will end by noon Tuesday. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm cm forecast but higher amounts are possible. Also, strong winds are expected Tuesday morning in Kings County, potentially gusting up to 90 km/h.
All provincial civil service offices in the East Prince, Queens County, including Charlottetown, and Kings County areas will be closed for the day.
All provincial civil service offices in the West Prince area will be closing at noon on Monday.
All classes in the Public Schools Branch and French Language School Board were cancelled on Monday.
All Holland College locations will be closed for the day due to the weather forecast.
UPEI’s Charlottetown and St. Peter’s Bay campuses will remain closed for the day on Monday.
The AVC Veterinary Teaching Hospital will remain open for emergencies.
