A new initiative is being offered by the Tourism Industry Association of PEI for TIAPEI members, with support from the Provincial Government. The Tourism Wellness Program – Putting People First is designed to assist the Island’s tourism operators in supporting the mental and emotional well-being of their employees and family members.
The program provides full coverage to 6 sessions per year dealing with a wide range of problems that affect personal well-being and work performance. Supports include individual and family counselling, addiction supports, and stress and anxiety supports.
TIAPEI CEO Corryn Clemence says the tourism industry has faced a number of incredibly difficult years with pandemic challenges, labour shortages, and hurricane Fiona. She says they recognize the fatigue and pressures that not only the operators are facing, but also employees across the industry,
