Souris Mayor Steve O’Brien has resigned.
O’Brien was recently diagnosed with cancer and he felt that it is in the best interest of the Town that he resign from his role as Mayor as focuses on his health.
A By-Election to fill the position of Mayor will be held in the fall. In the interim, Deputy Mayor JoAnne Dunphy will act as Mayor for the Town of Souris.
