The PEI Humane Society says over $1.6 million has already been raised to support the renovation of its Sherwood Road facility. It’s launched a capital campaign for the $2.9 million renovation project.
Phase I of the project is now complete, with a new addition that allowed staff to move out of the basement.
Phase II will relocate the shelter to a temporary space for one year while major construction finishes the redesign of the animal care space.
Phase II Construction will begin when the PEI Humane Society has reached 80% of the fundraising goal.
