The RCMP says a Stratford man escaped custody on Monday after being fingerprinted at the Maypoint Detachment, and before he was to be taken to the courthouse.
48-year old Allan Victor Jefferson was being investigated on charges of mischief and sexual touching, when police found that he had left the province. On Sunday, he was located in New Brunswick, arrested, and brought back to PEI.
But, Police say he bolted out the back door of the Maypoint Detachment on Monday, and was found in Cornwall by police early Monday night.
He’s been remanded into custody.
