Affordable housing is going to be a major topic in the City of Charlottetown in 2019.
Mayor Philip Brown says the city has a stake in the matter as rents continue to rise and vacancies start to drop.
But he says the city needs help from the both the federal and provincial governments on this important matter.
Brown says he and Charlottetown CAO Peter Kelly have already met with Premier Wade MacLauchlan and his Chief of Staff on the issue.
The Mayor says the Premier is quite aware of the need for more affordable housing.
He wants to see the process start to roll out in 2019.
