Two Islanders have been named to the Order of Canada this morning.
Governor General Julie Payette has announced 103 new appointments to the Order of Canada.
Island businessman and former Lieutenant Governor of PEI, H. Frank Lewis, has been named as a Member of the Order for his contributions to the economic, social and cultural well-being of the province. Lewis is also a member of the Order of Prince Edward Island.
Also named as a Member is Ian Robert Dohoo of Charlottetown. Dohoo is being cited for his contributions to veterinary and human epidemiology in developed and developing countries.
The new member list includes 84 others as Members of the Order, 15 Officers, 2 Companions and 2 Honorary Members. Recipients will be invited to accept their insignia at a ceremony in Ottawa at a later date.
