PEI’s economic growth will slow down a bit in 2019, according to the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council.
It’s forecast to be 2 per cent next year which will be on par with the rest of Canada, but will not lead the Atlantic provinces.
APEC suggests that on the Island, investment in major projects will drop by 8 per cent; and, the province will see significant investment into cannabis production. It says housing starts will also continue to grow, as will retail sales.
