The Summerside Western Capitals moved five points up in the second place Campbellton Tigers with a 3-0 shutout last night in the Maritime Junior Hockey League.
The Caps were sparked by goalie Dominek Tmej’s 50 saves and two goals from Kayden Peck. Brodie MacArthur also scored.
The Caps improve to 18-4.
Bruce Massey’s buzzer beater gave the visiting Cape Breton Highlanders a 116-115 victory over the Island Storm in NBL basketball.
The Storm now 2-2.
Jarrell Tate had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Storm.
Russell Byrd added 24 points and 9 rebounds.
WILD IN FIRST PLACE
The Kensington Wild won another contest, 6-4 over the Saint John Vitos to move into sole possession of first place in New Brunswick-PEI Major Midget.
The Central Attack is 14-1 after blanking the Mid Isle Matrix, 8-0 in PEI Bantam AAA.
Colby Huggan had 3 goals and 2 assists while Kai White had 2 goals and 3 assists.
