The fall sitting of the P.E.I. Legislature came to an end late Wednesday afternoon.
The highlight of the sitting was Government’s capital budget, which included $38-million for a high school in Stratford, and investments in improving mental health and addictions facilities.
In terms of legislation, there was a bill tabled by Minister Sonny Gallant requiring all post-secondary institutions to develop sexual violence policies; a bill from PC MLA Jamie Fox requiring newly-appointed provincial court judges to receive education on how to deal with cases involving sexual assault; and for the first time, a Green Party bill won approval.
