This past Saturday, the RCMP, together with PEI Highway Safety and members of MADD, conducted checkpoints across the province. It was all part of National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day.
Over 3-thousand drivers went through checkpoints. One driver was charged with Impaired Driving, and another driver was given a roadside suspension after a test showed that his blood alcohol level was over 80 milligrams.
Two drivers were stopped after they tried to avoid a checkpoint, and were charged when they were found to be driving while prohibited.
