The UPEI Panthers ended the first half of the AUS men’s hockey season with a 4-3 win in Halifax over the second place Saint Mary’s Huskies.
Sam Aulie got the winner on a late second period power as the Panthers finished the first half with a 9-6-1 record.
That puts them only 3 points back of the Huskies for second.
Cody Payne added a goal and two assists.
Austin Levi and Troy Lajuenesse also scored.

UNB finished the opening half with a 15-0-3 record and a 5-1 win at Acadia.
Moncton got by St. F.X., 3-2.

The Summerside Western Capitals buried the expansion Grand Falls Rapids, 7-1 in the MHL.

The battle for first place between Kensington and visiting Moncton was called off in Major Midget due to a power outage in K-Town.
Charlottetown got by the Northern Moose, 5-4.

The 22nd Pownal Markhan WoodmillersMemorial Hockey tournament goes to the playoff portion today in Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget. There were 50 teams in the various divisions as the tourney began on Thursday.
NHL – Nylander Signs
The Toronto Maple Leafs signed holdout William Nylander at the deadline to a 6 year, $41.4 million contract worth 6.9 million a year.

The Leafs went out and dumped Minnesota, 5-3 with Zach Hyman scoring twice.
