PEI Emergency Measures Organization is working closely with Maritime Electric and affected areas to ensure the needs of Islanders are being met in areas where power has not yet been restored.
Maritime Electric has indicated the following areas are unlikely to have power restored until Saturday: Mount Stewart, Albany, Alberton, O’Leary, Lennox Island, and St. Eleanors.
The EMO advises there are reception centers set up for these residents:
Albany area: Kingston Legion, Kinkora Community Center, Kanata Place, Kinkor
Alberton area: Alberton Firehall (4 to 10 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
Scotchfort area: Mt. Stewart Community Centre (2:30 to 9:00 p.m.)
O’Leary area: O’Leary Fire Department
Lennox Island: John J. Sark Memorial School
St. Eleanors area: Credit Union Place
Reception centers continued to be open Friday in the following areas:
Lower Montague Hall
St. Peters at the Dr. Roddy Community Centre
Cardigan Fire Hall
Milton Community Hall
Tignish Legion
Town of Stratford Community Center
Tyne Valley Fire Department
Vernon River St. Joachim’s Church Hall
