RCMP responded to a call in the community of Lorne Valley Monday morning and were met by a man with a rifle.
Sgt. Chris Gunn with the Kings District RCMP says several officers attended the scene on Route 355 around 8:30 in the morning.
Officers witnessed the man outside a residence with the rifle, which he tried to hide from police, and then went back inside the home.
Officers cleared the scene, set up a perimeter around the home, and negotiated with the man, who gave himself up without incident and was taken into custody.
Sgt. Gunn says for safety reasons, officers were wearing hard body armor and did possess carbine rifles.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
