A painting of Charlottetown’s longest serving mayor now hangs in Council Chambers at city hall.
Local artist Henry Purdy painted the portrait or Clifford Lee, who has served 15 years as mayor of the capital city after being first elected in 2003. He was re-elected in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 municipal elections. Prior to that, Clifford Lee served 15 years as a City Councillor, being first elected in November 1987.
The portrait was unveiled by Deputy Mayor Mike Duffy during Lee’s final council meeting as Mayor of Charlottetown. The painting was placed alongside Lee’s mayoral predecessors.
The public is invited to view the portrait during regular business hours at City Hall at 199 Queen Street..
