Yarmouth, Nova Scotia has been left grief stricken by a tragedy that claimed the life of a little girl during the port town’s Santa Clause parade.
Police say the four-year-old, who has not been identified, had been running alongside a parade float when she fell underneath it early Saturday evening.
She was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead soon after.
R-C-M-P Corporal Dal Hutchinson says it was a “very, very tragic” scene.
Vance Webb, a retired machinist, was there with family members and says it was “mayhem” with screams of horror and then tears of sorrow as people in the crowd realized what had happened. (CP)
