Federal Agriculture Minister and Cardigan MP Lawrence MacAulay spoke with the media Monday, outlining the successes of a recent trade mission to China.
He says the delegation attended three major trade shows. At one of them, the China International Import Expo, the countries signed 18 agriculture and agrifood agreements worth more than 358-million dollars for Canada.
He says that in all, the three shows are anticipated to generate $640-million for the agriculture and seafood sectors.
Premier Wade MacLauchlan took part in the mission along with UPEI, Holland College, Study Aboard Canada, and a number of island Agricultural and seafood companies, and others.
