PC MLA Darlene Compton is urging the provincial government to continue fighting the proposed Northern Pulp pipeline that would carry treated effluent to the Northumberland Strait from its controversial mill near Pictou, Nova Scotia.
Compton says she wrote to both federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna and Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil, voicing her concerns about the proposed project.
She says the project should be the subject of a federal environmental review instead of a review done by the province of Nova Scotia.
This comes days after Northern Pulp asked for public support for more time for the project, which is facing delays.
